Around 130 years of peoples’ time have been spent using my various Facebook applications since August 2009. However, I think that the upcoming changes to the platform will have a negative effect for most Facebook API developers. The changes being made include removing notifications for when a user makes an action with an application (e.g. drawing on a friend’s photograph). The alternative given is to email the user directly after asking for their email address. This decision still surprises most people that I mention it to.
